When a link contains symbols, such as "<" and ">", they should be replaced by a percent symbol and their ascii codes. In this case that would be %3C and %3E respectively.
Example
Correct: [[1]]
Incorrect: [<1917::AID-POLB9>3.0.CO;2-O ]
