  • As the measurements can be conducted rather quick, there is no booking for this device.
  • For first-time users, please get in touch with the person responsible for the machine (for FTIR, it's Prof. Tarmo Tamm, room 328).

Ask your fellow colleagues to assist you in case you need help either with the OPUS software in the FTIR laptop, passwords, or sample preparation. For operating and measuring, you need two passwords - one for the FTIR-attached laptop and the other for the OPUS software, which is needed to operate this machine.

Here is a general tutorial Acquiring and Processing FTIR Spectra that is sufficiently detailed to cover all the steps. There are two exceptions - you need to click Start Sample Measurement TWICE; the second time the option appears at the bottom of the application window).
